SG->HKIA->Zhuhai
We flew to HK via jetstar. We bought the air tix quite late, abt just 3 wks before. Cos we waited for the national day promo to buy our tix. When we reached HKIA, we bought the boat tix to Zhuhai.
- The boat tix counter is within the custom. Rmb not to cross the custom
- You can request the personnel to transfer your luggage from the plane to the boat.
- There is a cafeteria just beside the counters, so you can eat while waiting for your boat
Nth much in zhuhai. Maybe just cheap electronics, food.
- Zhuhai Fisher Girl Statue - nth much...just take photos
- Zhuhai Martyrs Cemetery - nth much, just a short stroll and know more abt history
As mentioned...it's a super budget trip, so my dad brought me to places he went before to eat. Just cheap and ok food. But Zhuhai shld be famous fore it's seafood. But beware not to get cheated!! Especially when you order fish. Sometimes they will say the one you wanted got no stock and recommend another fish. Make sure you ask for the price first!! Cos they will scam you and cook a super expensive one for you.
Accommodation
We stayed at Jin Jiang Inn. Hotel is not bad. Budget. We took a bus from the port and alighted somewhere near. My dad was the guide so I'm not too sure what bus. Bus trip there only cost RMB 3 i think, regardless the distance.
Zhuhai->Macau
To get to Macau from Zhuhai, you will need to go through the Gong Bei custom.
- There are buses to get to the custom
- Go there early in the morning, if not the queue would be super long
- After you cross the custom, you can hop on casino shuttle bus to get to the casino nearest to the location you want to go.
Zhuhai->Shenzhen
From Zhuhai port, you can buy boat tix to Shenzhen (Shekou). Takes about 1.5 hours. Shenzhen Went to a few places to walk walk. The mrt is quite convenient to get to places. But when you enter the mrt each time, there is a bag scan, so the queue can be quite long. You can just buy the one way tix at the stn machine. But make sure you have enough RMB 1 and RMB 5, cos you can't use big notes to buy the tix.
- Digital malls -Near huaqiang north stn. Alot of shops selling digital goods like phones etc. But can't be sure whether they are really 'real'
- 深圳书城 and Walmart - Near grand theatre stn. First time seeing a walmart. Fun to just stroll and see what goods they have for sale. For 深圳书城, most books are in chinese. But they are really much cheaper than SG!
- Window of the world - Window of the world stn exit J. Showcase of the miniature of famous structures of the world. The area is really big..tiring to walk arnd. There is a night show at 7pm so do stay till then and watch. The night show tix has to be exchanged separately with the entrance tix. At 5pm the booth would be open.
- Shopping at laojie - Laojie stn. Alot of boutiques there. There is also a food street.
Didn't get to eat really nice food with my dad. Just a super cheap meat bun that cost RMB 10 for 6 if Im not wrong. (near Huaqiang north stn). The food street near laojie stn sells quite a variety of food. But all quite oily :(
Accommodation
We stayed at Xiangmei hotel located at laojie. There is an underground shopping link at laojie stn. One of the exit will lead to the hotel. Hotel is ok, budget, but internet quite slow.
Shenzhen->Hongkong
To get to HK from shenzhen, just take mrt to luohu stn and cross the custom. Then you can take the HK mrt to get to the places you want to go. Custom is not very crowded.
Hongkong
I only had little time to visit a few places with my dad in HK.
- Big Buddha - Near tungchong stn. Take a bus up to the big buddha..cant rmb the bus no. though. Can pay by the octopus card. Makesure there is enough value for a 2 way trip. Abt 17HKD per trip. You can pay abt 100++HKD to eat vegetarian food there. Not too bad. But the more people the better cos there will be extra dishes.
- Laser show - Tsim sha tsui. Overrated...cant really see the laser..and not exciting. not worth the wait.
